National Day of Repentance: Portugal

BRAGA SOLEMN ASSEMBLY (BSA). JOEL 2:15.-17; 2 Chro 7:14.

WE DESPERATELY NEED YOUR PRAYERS!

On April 15, a group of pastors and missionaries in Braga who have been meeting weekly for some time agreed to hold the Braga Solemn Assembly, BSA as follows:

Date June 14;  Time: 9am-4pm;  Venue: Igreja Missionária, Braga

The BSA is a time that interested churches and ministries in Braga city, (and environs), will gather to cry out to God, seeking Him in repentance according to JOEL 2:15.-17; 2 Chro 7:14. It is a time to cry for an outpouring of the Spirit upon Braga, Northern Portugal and indeed the whole of Portugal. It is a time of crying to God for revival in the lives of individuals and churches in Braga and Portugal.

In preparation, this group of leaders began meeting daily for prayers on May 25  and will continue till June 3. The participating churches will gather daily in their respective places of meeting for prayers as from June 4 till June 13. The leaders in Braga praying together are like a woman in laboring to give birth to her first baby.

Yet, much, so much more prayer is needed in order to realize God’s plan for Braga and to fulfill the reason for the BSA.

This is where you can be involved. We plead with you to KINDLY PRAY, AND PASS THIS TO YOUR AREA OF INFLUENCE, REQUESTING THEM TO PRAY CONSISTENTLY FOR THE CITY OF BRAGA, THE BSA AND PORTUGAL.  Here are some prayer points. 

Thanks giving and prayers

Thank God for:

1.     Setting up and sustaining this meeting of pastors and missionaries and enabling them to meet every Tuesday.  

2.     Uniting this group to hold the BSA.

Please pray that:

1.     Repentance-God will release the spirit of repentance upon believers in the city, enabling us to repent genuinely enough to release God’s forgiveness and blessing upon the land.

2.     Plead with God to grant believers broken and contrite hearts, the type that He will not despise.

3.     Spirit of prayer-God will pour upon Braga city a spirit of prayer causing the believers to pray in the power of the Spirit, releasing God’s move upon the city.

4.     Unity/Harmony-Pray that God will cause harmony/unity among the leaders of participating groups. Pray that God will cause the believers in the city to unite to such an extent to enable a release of the power of God through the church in the city.

5.     Humility-that God will enable the church in Braga to humble herself sufficiently to bring about the fulfillment of the Word in 2 Chro 7:14.

6.     Pray specifically for the daily meeting of these leaders that God will grant each one of these leaders repentant hearts, revive each one and harmonize them so that His blessings can come upon the city. See Psalm 133.

7.     Pray that these leaders will be supernaturally enabled to travail till the purposes of God are accomplished in Braga and even Portugal.

8.     Genuine personal heart preparations towards the Day-that God will create genuine and sustained hunger for Himself in the hearts of believers in Braga, causing us to seek Him with all our hearts.

9.     Program for the Day-God will give us His program for the Day. 

10.  Out pouring of the Spirit-God will fulfill upon this city, His promise, “I WILL POUR ..” Joel 2:28, 29.

11.  Revival-God will revive the church in Braga. That God will do whatever pleases Him in Braga.

12.  Judgment-God will judge the gods of Braga and of Portugal.

13.  Other cities-what God does in Braga will be replicated in other cities in Portugal resulting in a national revival. (Braga is called the city of archbishops, the Rome of Portugal-meaning that it is like the religious capital of the nation-what happens should flow to other cities.)

14.  United Prayer for Portugal (UPP)-that God will use BSA to kick start the UPP. The UPP is a vision to mobilize the entire church in Portugal to pray with fasting seeking the face of God for at least 3 years. Pray that God will raise people in Portugal that will give the UPP credibility and visibility.

15.  Pray for a shift in the heavens over Braga and over Portugal. Pray for open heavens over the city and the nation.

16.  AFTER THE SOLEMN ASSEMBLY, what next? Pray that the leaders will understand what God wants them to do AFTER the Day of prayer in order to maintain and grow the fire. Pray the leaders will follow God’s plan. Pray for a deep and lasting work of the Spirit in Braga and in Portugal.

17.  Pray for a mighty move of the Spirit in Braga that will result in thousands coming to the faith. Pray the same for Portugal that the Spirit of God will sweep of millions of Portuguese into the kingdom and maturing His church in the nation.

Please pray all manner of prayer as the Lord enables you, for Braga, Portugal and the Portuguese world.

Intercessory Prayer for D-Day: 70th Anniversary June 6th, 2014

PRAYER FOR THE 70^TH ANNIVERSARY OF D-DAY JUNE 6, 2014

HEAVENLY FATHER, WE GATHER AT THIS CEREMONY TO HONOR THE BLOOD SPILLED BY ALLIED SOLDIERS WHO COURAGEOUSLY SCALED THE CLIFFS AT NORMANDY, FRANCE ON D-DAY, 70 YEARS AGO TO GIVE THEIR LIVES TO FREE US ALL FROM TYRANNY. ON THAT DAY, YOU ANSWERED PRAYERS. D-DAY WAS THE MOMENTOUS SHIFT IN WORLD WAR II THAT GAVE THE UNITED STATES AND THE ALLIED NATIONS VICTORY OVER EVIL. YOU GAVE US VICTORY OVER EVIL BECAUSE YOU LOVED US THEN. NOW, IN THE SAME WAY THAT 70 YEARS AGO THE ALLIED SOLDIERS PUT THEIR LIVES INTO YOUR HANDS, WE IN THE CHURCH, THE BODY OF CHRIST, IN THIS COUNTRY AND IN OTHER NATIONS, ARE PUTTING OUR LIVES IN YOUR HANDS, JOINING TO PRAY, FAST AND REPENT, AND TO FIGHT AGAINST THE TIDE OF EVIL THAT IS RISING UP AGAIN.

TODAY, LORD GOD, IN EVERY NATION WE FACE EVIL, OFTEN UNSEEN. THE THREAT IS REAL AND IT IS OBVIOUS. WE ARE IN A FIERCE SPIRITUAL BATTLE, AND ARE AT GRAVE RISK OF LOSING THE GODLY ROOTS THAT WERE PLANTED IN EVERY NATION THAT ONCE DEPENDED UPON YOU, AND FEARED YOU.

THE HOLY SPIRIT AND THE SCRIPTURES ENCOURAGE US TO BE ZEALOUS AND REPENT OF OUR OLD WAYS, CHANGE OUR MINDS, AND OVERCOME SIN. WE COVENANT WITH YOU ACCORDING TO NEHEMIAH 9 AND 10; WITH CONTRITE HEARTS AND SINCERITY, WE DECLARE THE BEGINNING OF A LIFELONG CAMPAIGN WITHIN THE BODY OF CHRIST TO OBEY YOU. WE WILL HONOR YOU AND FOLLOW YOUR WAYS, ONLY. WE COMMIT TO SERVE YOU ALL THE DAYS OF OUR LIVES.

Lord God, again we praise You, for the victory that was wrought for freedom 70 years ago in the Normandy invasion and campaign, and we establish a covenant before You to serve as Your soldiers again against the tide of evil that would engulf us all. Grant us the grace, Lord, to confront and to destroy the lies of the enemy in all realms of influence in our nation: church, family, military, business, education, media and government. As we stand in repentance before Your Throne of Grace, we ask that You would visit our people yet one more time, that we might all come to know you, dear Lord, as our Savior and our God.

National Day of Prayer and Fasting in MOZAMBIQUE

NATIONAL DAY OF UNITED FASTING AND PRAYER FOR MOZAMBIQUE

Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD.

Mozambique needs your sacrifice and prayers to become a blessed nation that is God-fearing, prosperous, secure, peaceful and honored. A nation that lends and does not borrow.

Whereby according to the word of God which says,

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land” 

all Christians in Mozambique from all church denominations are invited to take part of the program: 

NATIONAL DAY OF UNITED FASTING AND PRAYER FOR MOZAMBIQUE, on 31 MAY, 2014, FROM 8:00AM TO 4:00PM with THE OBJECTIVE OF UNITEDLY CALLING ON THE LORD (God Almighty) according to Joel 1:14

“Sanctify ye a fast, call a solemn assembly, gather the elders and all the inhabitants of the land into the house of the LORD your God, and cry unto the LORD,” in favor of the nation for the peace, security, prosperity, spiritual revival, elections on October 15 2014, and other matters, for the good and interest of the nation to enable her fulfill her divine destiny.

The Day of Prayer should occur throughout the country at the same time, each province should organize their prayer-meeting venues and alternative meeting points for those unable to reach the venues because of unforeseen circumstances.

In Maputo, the event will take place at MAXAQUENE SPORTS PAVILLION from 8:00am to 4:00pm.

Do not fail, invite other brethren in Christ and bring along the whole family, each one in complete fasting.

TOGETHER IN PRAYER, CONTRIBUTING TO THE DIVINE ELEVATION OF MOZAMBIQUE TO THE GLORY OF THE ALMIGHTY GOD, LORD OF THE WHOLE UNIVERSE.

God is Not Dead

Dear Pastor Jeff,

A few weeks ago, our son Cory was texting Amanda; his dear friend.  Later in the day, he received a text from Amanda’s best friend.  It was the type of news that you never want to hear.  She was jogging and got hit by a car.  The text said she was in a medical induced coma.  Many broken ribs, broken wrist and badly bruised. 

The biggest concern was the swelling in her brain.  Because her head hit a tree. 

An impossible situation. Our son was shocked. Horrified.  He had just talked to her. He did not know what to do.  Except pray.  And we did too. We enlisted prayer warriors on her behalf.  And many people throughout Southern California mobilized. 

Amanda was in ICU and on life support.  She couldn’t MOVE or SPEAK. Cory was in constant contact via text with Amanda’s dad, who was right by her side.  He gave us updates on Amanda, so we knew exactly how to pray.  Several days into this, the doctors said it didn’t look good.  They said that Amanda would most likely have brain damage.  Then her blood pressure started to drop.  It soon became a life and death scenario. They had no choice but to take her out of the medically induced coma.  We cried out to God for a miracle that night.  When patients are taken out of a medically induced coma, they do not respond or react right away.  They especially do not talk.  At 2:00am, I received a text from Cory.  When the anesthesiologist removed her breathing tube; Amanda spoke.  Not only did she speak; she said, “God’s not dead!”  The anesthesiologist was floored; he had never seen anything like it.  Her parents had tears of joy running down their faces.  Several days later, Amanda was discharged!  She is WALKING and TALKING. Last week, she took her finals at Long Beach State.  She is graduating!
God is NOT dead.  He is very alive. He continues to do miracles.  Nothing is impossible for Him.

Forgive us God that We the Church sometimes behave like we are in a medical induced coma.  Incapable of MOVING in love to the lost, unable to SPEAK the whole gospel truth to them.

Forgive us God that We the Church have allowed our brains to become swollen with vast resources of knowledge of You, but we seldom want to apply it to our lives.

Forgive us God that We the Church are bombarded daily with horrific and shocking news that we don’t want to hear.  And we don’t know what to do.
So we don’t.

Maybe we forgot that even though our lives are broken and badly bruised, Your Holy Spirit gives the best Intensive Care. (2 Corin 1:3-5)

Maybe we forgot that You are our One and Only life support. Our every breath.

Our every heartbeat.  (Job 33:4)

Maybe we forgot that You are constantly by our side.  And we get to have constant contact with You via Prayer.  (Psalm 34:4)

Breathe into us, Almighty God.  Your breath of life, restoration and revival.
Infuse in us the truth that You are Not Dead.
Instill in us the truth that You still Do the Impossible.
So we can wake up, rise up and speak up.  So You can Do Miracles Thru US.
Discharge US!!!
So We can WALK with You and TALK about Jesus.
To the lost, hurting and broken.
And tears of joy will run down Your face.

PRAISE: This past month Craig and I have presented Election Forums to over 25 Churches and Organizations!  Go to electionforum.org to see how to vote your values and view our current schedule.
Last week we were in Diamond Bar, Lake Arrowhead, San Diego and Long Beach.
We have been blessed with attentive audiences and trust me; salvation, mobilization and empowerment of the Holy Spirit took place!!!

PRAISE:  I was able to witness a revival this past Friday night.  Right here in the South Bay.  The Women’s Retreat was not only well attended at Calvary Chapel South Bay, but the Holy Spirit moved in a powerful and demonstrated way.  Salvation, deliverance and healing took place in many lives! Please continue to pray for revival here in the South Bay.  Lord knows we need it!!!

PRAY: These last few weeks before the June 2 primary, we will be in Torrance multiple times, Temecula, La Habra, Big Bear and La Habra Heights.  Please pray for people to be inspired to attend and ready to learn how to vote their values.

PRAY: As we prepare for the General Election in November, most churches we have been to, are already booking us.  Pray for favor for more pastors and churches to open their doors to this critical and urgent teaching and mobilization.

PRAY: We may be given the opportunity to speak at churches in specific areas for the elections throughout the state, not just Southern California.  Pray God would open those doors.  Pray for provision for transportation and resources.

PRAY:  That God would remove the spirit of stupor that blankets a lot of His people.  (Romans 11:8) That this would be replaced with a spirit of urgency for the gospel.  We are in the last days and He is raising up a mighty army.  We need more laborers. There is a huge harvest out there.

True Repentance...Shiny Chrome or Valuable Silver?

Felt to send these few quick notes on repentance....

I was asking the Lord about repentance and He told me that most believers speak to Him/”pray” as if they’re doing a McDonalds drive-through.

“Lord, I want this, this and this. Fast.” 

And then they speed off in another direction, consumed with their own self-interest and pleasure-seeking.

The word ‘fast’ is interesting.  The world and our flesh demands that everything should be “fast”, especially that which gives us fleshly pleasure (eg ‘fast food’).

But this is not the kind of “fast” that God requires.   When we try to do our relationship with Yahveh “fast” (ie. in this demanding, ‘just make me feel good’ way) it is an insult and abomination to Him.

Even our confessed ‘repentance’ prayers are not worthy and pure if at the core our motivation is selfish (ie. about “saving our own skins” from pending judgment and doom). 

True heartfelt repentance is not about following Biblical formulae in order to ‘get’ God to hold back in His judgement so our lives here will stay comfortable and we can sleep easier. (Aren’t we already sleeping too much?!  Think of the sleeping virgins without oil.)

Repentance starts with personal conviction of sin. It is a shakeup, wakeup call!  Conviction of sin rouses us from our stupor and causes us to fall on our face before our Lord God Almighty.  It’s not a casual, speedy, ‘driveby’ process;  when we begin to see ourselves in the shadow of the Presence of Almighty God, we’re not rushing anywhere.  And certainly there is nothing casual about it.

Repentance is heart-transforming.  It changes us radically from the inside out.  We are made different from who we were before.  We are as new and real as a new baby.

Conviction of sin is like the whips that came against the back of our precious Lord; it is painful as it strips our flesh from our backs so we see the ‘bare bones’ of our sinful self exposed and naked.  We see ourselves as our Holy God sees us.  His plumb line is our new measure of worth, and we suddenly and fearfully glimpse just how far we fall short.  It is shocking and frightening.  This is the ‘reverential fear’ and awe of which God’s Word speaks.  It makes us lower our heads, our whole person, and tremble in humility before Elohim, our Living, All Powerful and Sovereign GOD.  His Holiness takes our breath away.  We can’t stand in His Presence, much less walk or ‘drive by’.  True conviction of sin causes tears to fall – streams in the desert.  It causes an agony of spirit to see our darkness in His Light.

My friend, repentance is not ‘light weight’.  It is as hard and heavy and splintered as the Cross our Lord carried on His back.  We are meant to tremble under the weight of it. Our knees should buckle.

As we lay down that load at the foot of the Cross and look up into the disfigured face and piercing eyes of He Who Is Holy and without sin, the veil of our heart should be torn in grief and our tongues automatically confess and worship Yeshua HaMashiach as Lord of Lords and King of Kings, without ceasing forevermore! 

Each and every time we journey to the Lord in prayer, we need to look up to Him on that Cross, behold the price He paid for our life and liberty, and remember who we are before Him – a hardened lump of dried out clay in desperate need of cleansing and reshaping by the One and Only Potter.

We are meant to bleed in our grief and remorse as Christ bled for us.  If we are not ‘bleeding’ inside and out, then our repentance is not real.  Nor is our relationship real with our Triune God.

And our ‘grocery list’ and ‘formulae’ prayers make a mockery of the suffering of our Lord.  They are nothing more than egocentric attempts to manipulate God Almighty for our own benefit, and the benefit of our nations.

Real repentance transforms our hearts of stone into hearts of flesh.  Read that again. 

Let’s begin to take that Truth seriously.  And let us look for the evidence of it within ourselves to know if our own repentance is real. 

The transforming Power of real repentance is like nothing else! It is PHENOMENAL! It is ASTRONOMICAL!  It is SUPERNATURAL! It is OF GOD! 

Only when we feel the pain of repentance deep in our heart....when we are shaken to the very core of our being like an earthquake......when the stoniness of our countenance is dislodged and our hearts and minds are wrecked by His Grace....only then are our eyes opened to Who Yeshua Is.

Only in that place does God allow us a tiny glimpse of His SOVEREIGN LORDSHIP.

Only there at His feet do we glimpse, in the dazzling radiance of His Light, the price He paid by living amongst us, surrendering on the Cross of Calvary and overcoming all powers of Hell so that we who are ensnared by sin in our fleshly state may receive His Breath of Life.  This, my friend, is what it means to repent.  This is the kind of humbling of self that the Lord requires.  We must hush ourselves and slow ourselves to enter into that sacred place of sincere, heartfelt, mind-blowing, life transforming, self-wrecking repentance.  This is the kind that involves us throwing ourselves on His Sword....not to avert further shame or disaster coming upon our persons as Saul did, but in awe-inspired reverence of His Worth and Holiness and Godship, and out of a new despising of all that is within our fleshly self that is not of Him....we must want to die to it, for love of our God and His sake!

For it is in dying to self that we become living stones, being continually transformed into the image of Christ Jesus, our Rock.  As Peter’s identity was changed from Simon, so we the betrothed Bride are reformed into living ‘petras’, being continually transformed into the image of ‘Petros’, our Redeemer.    

Love and blessings in Jesus/Yeshua, our Lord of Lords!

Victory Update with Shelly Huey

Victory Update

The path I hike on is really a horse trail.  Dirt and rocks are layered throughout its slippery and meandering surface.  Next to the trail are new colorful wildflowers sprinkled amongst the hearty abundance of tall green weeds.  Ever since I can remember, right in the middle of this trail stood a magnificent oak tree.  I always had to walk around and avoid it. because it was so dauntingly huge.  But, it created a much-needed spot to rest.  I would take in its shade while I leaned against it and stretched. 

Until today. 

It was completely gone.  All that was left was a stump.  Never to grow again. The city landscapers came and cut it down with a chainsaw.  It was diseased.  The tree certainly tricked me... it didn’t look diseased. 

Its absence left a gaping hole.  I noticed that this ENTIRE section of the trail was now WIDE OPEN, receiving the bright, revealing sunlight like never before. 

As I CONTINUED up the hill, I looked back to where the tree was. 

What was AMAZING is it looked like it was never even there. 

There was a brand new clear view. 

One that was never seen before.

Forgive us God that We the Church, allow our ways, our thoughts, our vision and our agenda grow magnificently in the middle of your narrow path of righteousness.  (Isaiah 55:8-9)

Forgive us God that We the Church, sometimes allow the dirt of sin and the rocks of despair to clog up our hearts and throw us on a meandering slippery path of destruction.

Forgive us God that We the Church can become blinded by a spirit of deception.  Thinking something or someone is good, when actually it is or they are diseased by idolatry or false teaching.

Maybe we forgot that You are Holy and You hate sin.  Even though we might look good, You are not tricked.  You see the disease.

Maybe we forgot that You are the Almighty creator. And You like to plant Your new, colorful, wildflower creations of Your love right next to the hearty, abundant, weed filled hearts of the lost.

Maybe we forgot that You are the Sovereign One.  Your perfect will is always done, even when we walk around and avoid the dauntingly huge obstacles in our ministry or life and refuse to confront it or them.

Let the Holy Spirits chainsaw of grace come in and quickly cut down your pride.  (Isaiah 6:13)
Let the blades of His mercy tear through the deception that covers your eyes.   (Isaiah 42:7)

Cut down.  Never to grow again.

Never to stand in the path of what God wants to do in HIS church. 

In HIS home. In HIS ministry.  In HIS marriage.  In HIS career. 

In HIS calling for your life.

And guess what?  Once pride and deception are gone,
It will leave a gaping hole. Waiting to be filled.
Ask Jesus to fill it with a fresh anointing of His power.
Receive His bright, revealing Holy Spirit.
Like never before.
And let Him…

Create an ENTIRE view of Your Church that You have never seen.
Create a WIDE OPEN vision of His ministry You have never dreamed.
Create a CONTINUED hope of Your marriage You have long lost.
Create an AMAZING purpose of Your career/calling You have yet to discover.

So You can walk on a brand new clear path for His glory.

PRAY FOR:  Craig and I are starting to present Election Forums (electionforum.org) throughout Southern California.  We teach what the Christian Worldview is and how to vote your values.  Craig also goes down the ballot describing everything from a non-partisan view.  It’s critical that Christians align themselves with Scripture to be the salt and light in a nation of compromise.  Pray God will open doors of churches that desperately need this education, empowerment and mobilization.

We need breakthroughs ASAP to see Christians UNIFY and take back
Our religious freedoms that are soon to be gone.

PRAY FOR:  Boldness and Urgency for Pastors, teachers in presenting the whole gospel and giving the congregation the ability to step out of their comfort zone and go forward to an altar call.  Jesus made it pretty clear in  (Mark 8:38) that if we are ashamed of Him and His word, He will be ashamed of us.

PRAY FOR:  Opportunity for our business to have continued connections with the Bahamas, for specific favor with the Ministry of Tourism.

The concert/recording with Shaback (the national gospel choir from the Bahamas) in March was truly anointed.  Thousands of youth attended.  And they heard the good news of Jesus Christ.  Continue to pray for Pastor Clint Watson as he leads the Bahamas in transforming the youth there.  In July, Shaback will be singing at the Global United Fellowship conference (globalunitedfellowship.org) in North Carolina.  Pray for their testimony to impact many.  Also, Bishop Neil Ellis, a powerhouse of a preacher from the Bahamas will be presiding over this conference. Please go to the conference website to hear his vision and passion. Pray for this anointed man as he travels the world to talk about Jesus.

PRAISE:  While we were in the Bahamas in March, Craig was honored to present a free interactive seminar on Direct Response Marketing to local business owners.  What a privilege to be with such talented people that represented local TV, radio stations and entrepreneurs.  We look forward to more opportunity for this in the future.  Pray for Gaydene McClain, a local business leader, as she is the one who put this event together.

PRAISE: For YOU!  You are a mighty force of prayer warriors!!! We KNOW when YOU intercede for this state, this nation and us.  It is felt.

WE are eternally grateful that our Almighty God has placed YOU in our midst. Together we are an unstoppable force of His love on a lost people.

Dear Praying Friends,

The Burden of the Lord

As we were getting ready to immigrate to Israel, our beloved former pastor David Wilkerson shared a most precious truth.  He said that at the foundation of any God-inspired work or ministry is the burden of the Lord.  It is the source of our motivation, strength and direction.  There have been a few times when Father let me experience His heart.  The first was in relation to a struggle with one of our teenage children.  I felt like I was being torn apart.  My emotions were like a roller coaster out of control.  I cried out to God, “What are you doing to me?”  He answered, “Read Hosea.”  He later added,  “You asked to know My heart for Israel.  You couldn’t get it from My just telling you.  You needed to go through this experience to understand.”  The next time was just before taking our pilot trip to Israel in 1989.  Wanting to know Him more deeply, I asked Father to show me what grieved His heart.  On the night we returned home I got my answer.  He said, ”When my children fight.”  At the time, I didn’t realize the deep effect this had on me.  The next encounter was in the following year.  After having been told by the Lord the year before that we were to immigrate to Israel within three years, Pastor Dave suggested that I spend a month by myself in Israel waiting on the Lord without plan or agenda to get a word on where we should go and what we should do.  I was led to start my trip in the Tiberias area (very near where we now live).  On the very first morning of these days that were set aside to get direction, I received my answer.  The part of the story that amazes me is not that it came so quickly, but that it took some seven years for me to recognize that what I heard within hours of arriving was in fact my answer.  Part of the reason I didn’t get it is that He didn’t specifically say the word was for me -- unlike the year before when He said, “Here is the answer to your question.”  This time He just revealed His heart -- that the Land would be filled with people praising Him when returns.  He also showed me that it could not be accomplished without the participation of the Body in the nations.  The result has been that we have spent the better part of the last twenty years endeavoring to bring Father’s heart for Israel to our brethren in the nations.  If we are knit with Father’s heart, we will of necessity share His grief, which in turn fuels our passion.  To know Him in this way is to know our calling and election.  It releases a river of never-ending faith and strength. 

As In the Days of Noah

If the Lord was grieved at the time of Noah, who can imagine how He must feel now?  Amidst the controversy of the unbiblical elements of the film about Noah, could it be that it being done at this moment in history is actually a prophetic statement of what is presently in God’s heart?  It is today is as it was in the days of Noah. 

One recent morning, standing in our kitchen, I was filled with a passion and grief the likes of which I have not known before.  I sensed that my cries and groans were in sync with a Divine release that sealed a moment -- as when the Bridegroom spoke to the five heedless virgins…as when God spoke to Israel after they tested Him ten times in the wilderness…and as the Lord told those who had done so much in His Name that He did not know them.  This experience left me with the sense that a door has been closed…that something has been released that will not be turned back…that we have come to the end of a season. 

In Jeremiah chapter 3, one hundred years after the ten northern tribes were dispersed, God harshly rebuked the tribe of Judah (including Benjamin) for how lightly she considered her sister’s judgment.  Israel (the ten tribes) had openly sinned and were sent into exile.  Judah had made the outward appearance of repentance but remained inwardly hardened.  The Lord declared that faithless Israel was more righteous than treacherous Judah.  As I read this passage many years ago, I was impressed that Israel then is Israel now and Judah then is where the church is now.

Without grace it is impossible to repent.  In the hour of judgment, the window of grace closes.  People’s hearts are fixed. When the midnight cry goes forth, it will be too late to acquire the needed oil.  An hour has come that those who do not hearken to the voice of the Lord will become dull of spirit…as did the five unwise virgins. According to the root definition in Strong’s Concordance, their foolishness is described as dullness, stupidity, and heedlessness, caused by an association with religious rites.  If we have not listened when the volume was all the way up, how will we pay attention when it is turned down?  The injunction of Hebrews 3 and 4 are words for this very moment:  “Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your heart.”  The current level of spiritual activity is unprecedented…and we do not expect it to decrease.  We must grasp the fact that as loving and forgiving and filled with grace as our Father in Heaven is, He is also highly sensitive and holy.  After twenty-two years in Israel, we have witnessed that we in the land are doing no better than anyone else in dealing with trials and temptations. The conflicts, factions, and divisions in the Body are not decreasing.  We stand in dire need of prayer and intercession.   We too are at a critical point of heeding or being dulled.

From our vantage point, we see that things have gone to a new level in the nations, in the Land, and in the Body.  News has recently come out that leaders of major ministries have spun off into apostasy. A former Israeli Prime Minister has been convicted of a crime and is likely on his way to jail for bribery…a former Israeli President is in prison for rape…a former Chief Rabbi stands accused of bribery and fraud…a former IDF Chief of Staff is facing legal problems…numerous Mayors are facing indictments…and a string of former MKs and Ministers have spent time behind bars.

In the midst of this all, there is some very good news.   As the sun shines and the rain falls on the righteous and the wicked, the spirit of judgment likewise lands on all.  It has one effect on the rebellious and quite another on the righteous.  While this spirit fixes the hearts of the wicked where they are, it fixes and strengthens the hearts of the children of the Kingdom to stand against every onslaught of the kingdom of darkness.  Halleluiah! (By the way, relating to Pharaoh’s heart, the correct literal rendering of “hardened” is actually “strengthened”).

Personal News

On April 2^nd we leave Israel for Australia, primarily to see our son, daughter in-love and our FOUR GRANDCHILDREN, the youngest of whom we have not yet met.  We will be with them from April 11-28^th.  In the days before and after, the Lord has arranged for a few ministry meetings.  The public meetings will be between the April 28^th and May 4^th under the auspices of the Canberra House of Prayer.  For specific details, you can contact Paul or Hilary Moroney at: prayerworx@internode.on.net.  We would really appreciate your prayers for our 36-hour trip and our time Down Under. 

Galilee Worship Tour

We are encouraged to have received a good number of responses from people interested in taking part in such a gathering.  We are continuing to seek the Lord for the dates and details.  We ask you to join with us in praying for the release of a stream of worshipers coming to the Land…specifically to the Galilee…beginning in this next year.  Please pray for the right people to be commissioned and sent by the Lord throughout their respective countries to gather groups of worshipers, that by the end of the year there would be at least one, if not two, groups each month.

A Big Thank You

Last month we wrote of the sizable financial investment it took to establish the new Emmaus Way Center for worship and re-creation.  We have been so very blessed by the response of our friends to this little note buried in a super-long letter.  We’d appreciate your continued prayers that all we need will be restored. Having said that, we should really add that the new facility is already being well-used to build and encourage the Body.  We recently hosted some ten believing Arab families (about 25 people) for a day of worship, fellowship, barbeque, and games.  It’s because of the support of our friends and partners that we can be a blessing to the Body in the Land and the nations.  We cannot overemphasize what a privilege it is to be able to so freely give ourselves.  When we return from our trip, we will work on getting pictures of the Center and some of the gatherings posted on our website for you all to see and enjoy.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for praying for us.  Our arms are upheld and we are able to press on.
