As with virtually every catastrophic
event taking place on the planet today, the Lord God Almighty is speaking to us.
This recent California earthquake is a message to awaken us to repent and to
seek Him as our Source of Life.
In His love He is shaking “things that are made, that the things which
cannot be shaken may remain.” ~ Hebrews 12:27.
This 6.0 quake, the number of man,
was centered in a small city south of Napa called “American Canyon.” Truly America is now a divided nation,
one side far apart from the other…a canyon.
One side, wishes to continue depending upon the works of man, the works
of the flesh, the lust of the eye, the pride of life ---a way of life which
often describes the serving of the god
of mammon in the Napa Valley. Someone
described it this way: “One thing that
characterizes this region is a supreme belief in the triumph of human intellect
and the power of the human soul to solve all of the world’s ills.“ Truly sad.
Another side of the canyon
represents the remnant believers in the Risen Christ of the Living God, whose
Kingdom comes from depending and worshiping and trusting Him alone for our
blessings. Their lives are based on the
Rock of Christ, not the shifting mud underneath the buildings in Napa. “But everyone who hears these sayings of
Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on
the sand.”~ Matthew 7:24-27; Luke 6: 47-49.
When will our elected officials and
especially our church leaders read the signs of the times? Instead of rushing into rebuilding, instead
of the arrogance of human strength, now is the time to reflect and
repent---then rebuild with His Wisdom.
Pray that this major event where only property, not lives, were lost
will be a “spiritual earthquake” bringing many into the Kingdom and activating
current Christians. May those who do not know Jesus Christ be
awakened to turn to Him and be redeemed.
To build unity in the body of
Christ, now is the time to set the stage for a Day of Repentance in the Napa area and
the nation, bringing together believers in Christ to repent personally for the
ungodly policies legislated by our local and national leaders. All of us have fallen short of the glory of
God. The Lord is waiting to forgive us
and have us trust in Him as did the founders of this nation. It’s past time, especially for church
leaders, to follow the final instructions of the Risen Christ given to the
lukewarm church in the Book of Revelation 3: 19-21: “As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent. Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door,
I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with
Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.”
Yes, man’s wine and man’s olive oil spilled in this
earthquake. However, Jesus Christ came to give us His New Wine and the Oil of the
Holy Spirit. May many eyes now open to
Him. His Wine and Oil is beyond any
price.

Prayer: Almighty God, Creator of the Universe and
Master over all, we humbly ask you to have Mercy on us. Please unleash a spirit of Repentance over
this nation as you send us these very obvious “wake up calls” of
correction. We know that you chasten
those whom you love and only a bad father would continue to allow his child to
rush headlong into sin and evil. You are
good, O Lord, therefore you send your rod and your staff to put us back on the
right path. Lord, you tell us that the
prayers of a righteous man are powerful and effective. We are only made righteous by the Repentance
of our sins and by the Blood of Jesus Christ.
Let those who have partaken of your forgiveness cry out before your
Throne and declare that every knee shall bow, every tongue confess that You are
Lord. In the name of Jesus Christ we
pray, the King of kings and the Lord of Lords.
